Disingenuity

While I'm looking for a job I've been trying to stay away from politics in my blog. It's difficult (maddeningly so), but thus far I've been reasonably successful.I am endlessly amused today, however, by President Bush's comments to the nation in a televised address. He said: "Here's what the American people need to know: The U.S. government is acting, and we will continue to act, to resolve this crisis and return stability to our markets."What has had me giggling is that, for a party full of politicians who claim to idolize Ronald Reagan, they seem to forget all too quickly that the man once said:The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'Perhaps I'm just skeptical because, ever since the $700 billion dollar bailout was announced last Saturday, the Dow Jones has droppedover 21%. That's impressive.
